Sean McVay said during his media session Monday that the team will sign Bortles off the Broncos’ practice squad. He won’t start over Wolford, but he will be the third-string quarterback in the event that something happens to Wolford or Bryce Perkins ahead of the game. Given the way this season has gone with the coronavirus pandemic, it’s always best to have a backup plan, which is the case for the Rams here.
Wolford will see his first NFL action after only playing in the preseason and spending time in the AAF, so it’s especially important for L.A. to have someone with experience at this level.
